I have only ever seen Michael Emerson's scene from this film.
I did not realise what the whole story was about having only seen 1 part of it. It sounds so tragic but also an interesting one to look at.
I hate that we live in a world where people are capable of such cruelty. Why do people need to judge others so. Why can't people just be accepted for who they are no matter what their sex, religion, nationality, sexual preference or anything else. There are some people who just seem to need to hate.
I think this film would make me cry and get perhaps a bit angry at times as well. Especially knowing it is a true crime.
I don't understand either how a religious figure such as this Rev.Phelps, can justify prostesting at a funeral. No matter what his beliefs, the boy had a right to a peaceful funeral - one with respect. The poor boy's family must have been so brokenhearted.
It just depresses me that the world can be so horrible at times. The news every day shows us that all types of different hate crimes are about us across the world :0(
*blushes* Sorry to waffle on at your journal! LOL
